Water Painter Technique

Supplies:

Featuring:  Water Painters Technique

Watercoloring (Ink Refills or Ink Pads): Azure Afternoon; Daffodil Delight; Old Olive

Ink Pads for Stamping: Memento Black; Old Olive

Stamps:  Petal Park; Unbounded Love

Cardstock: Azure Afternoon; Basic White; Watercolor Paper

Adhesive: Liquid Glue; Mini Glue Dots

Tools:  Bone Folder; Clear Blocks; Paper Snips; Paper Trimmer;

Embellishments: Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins


Water Painter Technique:

1. Twist off the bottom of the Water Painters by pressing on the Push mark &

gently turning the bottom to remove the base;

Fill the base with water, then gently turn the base back into place


2. Add one drop of Ink Refill onto a Clear Block (OR) dab a clear Block onto an Ink Pad


3. Squeeze lightly on the Push option of the base,

dropping a little water on the edge of the Ink on the Block;

Swirl ink & water around with Water Painter, picking up a little ink & color your image


4. Clean Clear Block & Water Painters with Wet wipes or soap & water & dry


Note:  A variety of coloring shades can be created by adding no water, a little water or more water to the Ink on the Block; The more water you add to the color, the lighter the color will become.


Directions:


Card Base:

1. Cut Azure Afternoon Cardstock 4-1/4” x 11”


2. Score at 5-1/2” on 11” side; Fold on Score line & burnish with Bone Folder


3. Cut 3 Strips of Azure Afternoon 3/4” x 5-1/2” for Card Front;

Cut 1 Strip of Azure Afternoon 3/4” x 5-1/4” for inside Card


4. Watercolor & brush all 4 Strips back & forth using the wide Water Painter Brush

with Azure Afternoon Ink


5. Center & adhere the 3 Strips vertically to the Card Base with Liquid Glue


Card Front:

1. Cut Watercolor Paper 3-1/2” x 3-3/4”


2. Stamp Flowers & Leaves from Petal Park Stamps in Memento Black Ink & let dry

Stamp extra Leaves & Flowers on Watercolor Paper scrap in Memento Black Ink &

let dry


3. Watercolor Flowers in Daffodil Delight Ink & Leaves in Old Olive Ink


4. Watercolor the Card Front with 2 short Strips of Daffodil Delight, one along the

top left side & one along the bottom right side


Sentiment:

1. Cut Basic White Cardstock 4” x 3/4”


2. Stamp “Have a Blessed Day” in Old Olive Ink


Inside Card:

1. Cut Basic White Cardstock 4” x 5-1/4”; Adhere to inside card with Liquid Glue


2. Adhere Watercolored Azure Afternoon strip along the left side edge vertically

with Liquid Glue;

Adhere cut-out Watercolored Flower & Leaves with Liquid Glue & Mini Glue Dots


Finishing Up:

1. Center & line up the stamped Watercolor Flowers & Leaves along with the &

Sentiment on the Card Front & adhere both in place with Liquid Glue


2. Layer & adhere the cut-out Flowers & Leaves over the Stamped ones with

Mini Glue Dots


3. Adhere Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the center of the Flowers


Envelope:

1. Cut Azure Afternoon Cardstock 6” x 2-1/2”


2. Stamp a Clear Block in Azure Afternoon Ink;  Add water to widest Water Painter Brush;


3. Squeeze water on Inked Clear Block & pick up in with Brush;

Brush two stripes along Cardstock & let dry


4. Adhere to Envelope Flap with Liquid Glue
