Soft Pastels Chalk Technique

Supplies:

Featuring:  Soft Pastels Assortment Chalk

Stamps:  Round We Go

Dies:  Scalloped Contours

Cardstock: Basic White; Crumb Cake; Lemon Lolly

Ink Pad:  Crumb Cake; Early Espresso

Adhesive: Liquid Glue

Tools:  Bone Folder; Paper Snips; Paper Trimmer; Stampin’ Cut & Emboss

Embellishments: Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins

Other:  Kleenx


Soft Pastels Assortment Chalk Technique

1. Brush Pastel Chalk onto Cardstock for a background


2. Stamp an outline of an image, then color with Pastel Chalk


3. Gently wipe off excess Chalk with a Kleenx


4. Pastel Chalks are easy to use & work well with a variety of coloring tools like

Sponge Daubers, Blending Brushes, and Water Painters


Directions:


Card Base:

1. Cut Lemon Lolly Cardstock 4-1/4” x 11”


2. Score at 5-1/2” on 11” side;

Fold on Score line & burnish with Bone Folder


Card Front:

1. Cut Crumb Cake Cardstock 4” x 5-1/4”; (make 2)

Adhere one to Card Base with Liquid Glue


2. Cut Basic White Cardstock 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”; (make 2)

Die Cut with largest Rectangle Die from Scalloped Contours Dies


3. On one, brush Pastel Chalk from side to side with alternating colors of

Coastal Cabana, Granny Apply Green, Daffodil Delight & Gorgeous Grape


4. Gently wipe Chalk with Kleenx back & forth to remove excess Chalk,

being careful not to mix the colors together


5. Randomly Stamp Flowers in Crumb Cake Ink


6. Color the center of the Flowers with Daffodil Delight Chalk in a circular motion;

Lightly wipe off in circles to remove excess Chalk with a Kleenx


7. Adhere to Card Front with Liquid Glue


Sentiment:

1. Cut Crumb Cake Cardstock 2-3/4” x 3/4”;

Cut Basic White Cardstock 2-3/4” x 3/4”


2. Stamp” Time to Celebrate” in Early Expresso Ink


3. Cut both ends of both pieces at an angle;


4. Layer & adhere together with Liquid Glue;

Adhere to Card Front with Liquid Glue


5. Adhere Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins to center of Flowers & to Card Front


Inside Card:

1. Stamp coordinating Flower in Crumb Cake Ink on Basic White Die Cut;


2. Color the Flower center with Daffodil Delight Pastel Chalk;

Gently wipe off in circles to remove excess Chalk with a Kleenx


3. Adhere Crumb Cake to Inside Card with Liquid Glue

Adhere Basic White Die Cut to Inside Card with Liquid Glue


Envelope:

1. Cut Lemon Lolly Cardstock 6” x 2-1/2”


2. Stamp small Flower randomly in Crumb Cake Ink;

Stamp center in Lemon Lolly Ink


3. Adhere to Envelope Flap with Liquid Glue;

Trim around Envelope with Paper Snips
