Malia’s First Card: A Triangle Fun Fold for her Dad for Father’s Day

I had so much fun with six year old Malia teaching her the art of Card Making. She created her very first Card from start to finish, learning how to cut, score, stamp, color with Stampin' Blends, add Shimmery Crystal Effects, adhering with Snail (which she loved) & Stampin' Dimensionals & Enamel Dots.

Measurements

  • In Good Taste DSP 4” x 5-1/4” for Triangles

  • Whisper White Cardstock 3” x 3” for center front

  • Whisper White Cardstock 4” x 5-1/4” for inside

Directions


Card Base:

1. Night of Navy Cardstock 8-1/2” x 11”


Triangle Fold:

1. Score Night of Navy Cardstock 4-1/4” on 8-1/2” side & Score 5-1/2” in 11” side


2. Remove Scoring Blade from Paper Trimmer to allow more space for cutting


3. Place both corners diagonally in the cutting track of Paper Trimmer,

hold paper in place & cut corner to corner


4. Place Scoring Blade back into the Paper Trimmer


5. Fold on Score lines & burnish with Bone Folder


Triangle DSP:

1. Cut DSP 4” x 5-1/4”


2. Place both corners diagonally in the cutting track of the Paper Trimmer,

hold paper & cut corner to corner


3. Adhere one Triangle to a Triangle on the Card Base


4. Cut flipped side of DSP 4” x 5-1/4” & adhere second Triangle with Tombow


Walrus:

1. Cut Whisper White Cardstock 3” x 3”


2. Stamp Walrus in Night of Navy Ink

3. Color with Smokey Slate Stampin’ Blends & let dry


4. Add Shimmery Crystal Effects to the water & let dry

5. Fussy Cut


6. Adhere left side only to Card Front with Stampin’ Dimenionals

(Note: This will hold the Card shut but will allow the card to open from the other side)


Inside Card:

1. Cut Whisper White Cardstock 4” x 5-1/4”, write message then adhere in inside Card

with Tombow


Envelope:

1. Cut coordinating DSP 2-1/2” x 6”


2. Add Tombow to flap of envelope, place DSP to the folded edge of the envelope &

press down with Bone Folder


3. Trim along edges with Paper Snips

4. Create the Walrus the same as the Sentiment & adhere to card front corner

with Tombow


Cleaning Stamp:

1. Stamp off excess ink from Stamp on scrap paper


2. Rub Stamp onto wet Simply Shammy to remove remaining ink
